Participation Mystique: Reflections on a Dream and Synchronicity

In a recently published essay in the Jung Journal, Ryan reflects on a dream and two subsequent synchronicities. These experiences induced a sense of awe and encouraged him to contemplate his personal and our collective relationship to wonder, change, loss, and the earth. The case is made for the capacity of grief to shift us out of a collective ego complex that disconnects humans from the planet. Participation mystique emerges as a potential way of being that holds the promise of transformation and a greater relatedness to the earth.
