I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become.

The word trauma describes a wide range of experiences. A consistent feature of trauma, however, is the way in which the experience (or experiences) overwhelms the body-mind and how the effects can be felt in present time, even long after the trauma has occurred. Trauma therapy promotes the regulation of difficult emotions and other psychological and physical symptoms connected to the trauma. In addition, trauma therapy facilitates the re-connection and integration of experiences, emotions, memories, and other facets of one’s experience impacted by traumatic experiences. This diminishes the disruptive effects of trauma and fosters agency, coherence and renewed meaning.

Inner World Therapy works with individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma and specializes in providing therapy for adult survivors of childhood, relational, and developmental trauma.
